I'm struggling with getting extra control pads to work.

I bought 4 wired USB controllers and plugged them into a 1 to 4 USB adapter. I'm using Raspberry Pi 4.

When I start Retropie (and any games there-in) the 4 controllers are detected and I have mapped all the keys and they're all working in the menus. But when I get into a game, only the 1st 2 controllers are detected.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Please add the info requested in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to your post.

What game are you running - does it support 4 players ?

Hi there, thanks for your response.

I'm using Retropie version 4.7.1 (that's what is stated on the image information from the Punks website). The image I downloaded is this one:

          link removed

          I'm using a 5V 4A power supply.

The USB devices I have plugged in are the wireless keyboard USB, hard disk connection USB (connecting to the X825 V2.0 board), and the 1 to 4 USB adapter which holds the 4 controllers.

However, I have tried unplugging the wireless USB and putting the controllers on all the different USB ports and the problem persists.

It's odd because all 4 controllers are detected and I am able to map the keys on them. When the game launches it shows in the bottom left corner that each pad was detected. But then in 4 players games, across all emulators for different consoles, the option for 4 players just isn't working.

The game's I've tested it with are:

          Bomberman 3 (SNES)
          Bomberman 4 (SNES)
          Crash Team Racing (PSX)
          Micro Machines V3 (PSX)
          Smash Tennis (SNES)

Thanks for taking the time to look at this - let me know if there's any other information I can get for you.

We don't support 3rd party images - only the one from retropie.org.uk/download. Ask the creator of the image for support or use the installation from the link provided.

As per the forum rules, please don't post links to ROMs - such as the image and site you've posted. Thank you.
