So I'm trying to figure out how to get mouse movement working on SNES games using the lr-SNES9x core (think Mario Paint). I've seen some posts mentioning it being possible, but I'm having trouble figuring it out.

I did read through this thread mentioning editing the remap file for the game directly, which I'm up for doing, but I just don't know what I need to be adding to the file or what needs to be edited to enable mouse movement controls.

Anyone had any success doing this and have any advice?

I am not certain, but is it as simple as quick menu >> controls >> port 1 controls >> device type: SNES mouse?

Okay, I hadn't noticed that setting before, don't know how I missed that. Only problem is I'm dealing with a spinner on one particular machine, so I don't have mouse buttons (left/right click). Switching to this setting disables the joystick and buttons meaning I lose almost all functionality.

Is there a way I can create a remap file that assigns button0 and button1 on my arcade controller as left and right click. Maybe also enable two other buttons (or even the joystick) to act as mouse up/down (y-axis +/-)?
