I have been trying to get my RetroPie going but have been having major trouble with getting the emulators to work.
RetroPie boots just fine (as far as I know) and it looks like Emulation Station is working (forgive my possible lack of knowledge here. This OS is new to me).
I have set up Wifi and have confirmed it is working.
I have copied the ROM (testing with Donkey Kong 64) over to RetroPie in two ways. 1) USB formatted in FAT32, and 2) Via Wifi. I have confirmed that the files are in File Manager /home/pi/RetroPie/n64.
From everything I have read, and watched, as soon as the ROM is copied I should be able to "Restart Emulationstation" and it should pick up the emulator and allow you start the game.
However, it never shows anything other than the RetroPie Configuration screen.

Can someone please give me a hand? Maybe some links, or a list of things to check? I am also wondering if I am missing a BIOS?

@jay-0 no BIOS needed for n64. note that only certain file types are supported by each n64 emulator - a supported file type is needed to even display it in emulationstation. see https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Nintendo-64/#roms

please provide all the info requested here for further assistance: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first

What is a good link to download ROMs? It seems I am not getting the correct file types, which might be the entire problem.
          Thanks for the help!

I have been trying to use rom hustler to get my ROMs. Every time I download one it is a .7z file type. No matter what system I try to get a game for.

@jay-0 .7z is a compressed archive. Extract it and use the file inside. It will be either .n64, .z64, or .v64.

Also, please do not ask for links to rom sites here.
