Two PGM games that stopped working on Mame2003-plus
-
I used to be able to run Dragon World 2001 (
dw2001.zip
) and Martial Masters (martmast.zip
) with Mame2003-plus. About two weeks ago, I updated M3plus because of recent fixes (like Contra) and because I hadn't done so in a long time anyway, but now the PGM games stopped working. For comparison's sake: FBNeo runsdw2001
with just a few sounds working and also doesn't launch intomartmast
.I don't believe the games are officially supported on either core, but I did have them running at one time. Is there something I can do to get them working again on a libretro core?
(On an RPi 3B+ by the way)
EDIT: I've tried non-merged romsets and I also have the PGM bios in place, both options to no avail.

@weirdh Both games run on my (Pi4) Setup using FBNeo, but as you are on a Pi3+ AdvanceMame is running them also great.

Here's all the games mame2003-plus supports officially https://buildbot.libretro.com/compatibility_lists/cores/mame2003-plus/mame2003-plus.html

That sounds impossible, those 2 games were added to MAME back around 2008, and they aren't part of what was backported to mame2003-plus.

Bugs are best reported to our team through github or forum, always make sure you are using the latest version of the core when reporting something though.
dw2001
seems to have a sound issue indeed, i'll take a look (i have a feeling it's about dipswitches), thanks for the report.
martmast
seems fine, bad romset most likely (either for game or bios), if the core didn't tell you anything then it also means you are probably using an old version of the core : nowaday you get a fullscreen message about the error when the core can't complete your request. -

Yeah your defo getting mixed up with your emulators here MAME2003+ doesn't have the ARM7 CPU which would be required
for both Dragon World 2001 and Martial Masters to work, we can only support games that either dont use the ARM7 or have
the older ASIC protection routines. -
@arcadez2003 That's so weird (on my part, for the record), as the runcommand still was set for 2003-plus, so I just assumed it was always that, as I hadn't tinkered with it to my recollection. Does the ARM7 thing mean 2003-plus doesn't run any PGM game?
@barbudreadmon Yeah, I must have had something set wrong, or maybe a funky bios indeed, because after some maintenance it launches fine. Thanks for looking into
