      I used a HDMI cable connect to LED TV(max support 1080P). in Retropie option, I clicked the 'AUDIO SETTING', I got the error message as follows:
      ALSA lib control.c:1375:(snd_ctl_open_noupdate) Invalid CTL hdmi
      VolumeControl::init() - Failed to attach to default card!

      then No HDMI sound and volume keeps resetting to 0....

      Pi Model or other hardware: PI 4B
      RetroPie Version Used : 4.4

      my setting in 'SOUND SETTINGS' as follows:
      AUDIO CARD: HDMI
      AUDIO DEVICE: PCM
      ENABLE NAVIGATION SOUNDS: ON
      ENABLE VIDEO AUDIO: ON
      OMX PLAYER AUDIO DEVICE: HDMI

      in config.txt
      there are 2 setting:
      dtparam=audio=on
      hdmi_drive=2
      dtoverlay=vc4-fkms-v3d
      hdmi_group=1
      hdmi_mode=16

      I alow saw some articles say add theres setting, but it doesn't work, even the emulator can't start normally
      hdmi_force_hotplug=1
      hdmi_force_edid_audio=1

      Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Thanks!!

          Not sure which version of RetroPie are you using (version 4.4 is too old to support the PI4), but out of the box I think HDMI sound should work using the 4.7.1 image.

          Make sure that in the Audio settings in the RetroPie system you choose HDMI as output, then in ES the settings should be:
          AUDIO CARD: Default
          AUDIO DEVICE: HDMI

          For OMX audio output, just use ALSA and it should work.
