Does anything on a Pi 4 emulate the Super Game Module for Colecovision?
-
CoolCV emulates the SGM well but doesn't work on a Pi 4. The COleco/Adam emulation in lr-mess doesn't seem to have any SGM support, while BlueMSX supposedly does, but I can't find any options in it to enable the SGM, and games crash with a "This game needs the Super Game Module" error.
-
Yes, with lr-fbneo. You need their romset. Best emulator for Colecovision, Colecovision SGM, Colecovision Homebrews and Coleco Adam.
see: Colecovision Start-Up Error: Turn Game Off Before Inserting Cartridge or Expansion Module.

Ah, thanks, that works. Now I only have 268 ROMsets to individually rebuild to cater for FBNeo's legendary fussiness :(

To help you
go here and download that file and this folder in your coleco_sgm rom folder.
I converted the gamelist.xml file for fbneo romset (Colecovision SGM + homebrews + adam only)

I have seen in other topics that you use MAME, so i don't understand your comment here. This is how all romset-based emulators behave.

Here is my fbneo gamelist for SGM/Homebrews/Adam . With the gamelist.xml link above, you will be in business to know what is what.

Sure, but I don't know any that change the required ROMsets on a daily basis the way FBNeo does. Anyway, the important thing is that SGM games are working now so thanks to all.

MAME is doing the exact same thing, actually we change ours to stay in sync with MAME...
Also, those daily changes are just an urban legend, for obvious reasons a given romset will only change a few times (if any) over the course of several decades, and mainly for 2 very legit reasons :- the previous dump was bad and prevented the game from being correctly emulated, the bad rom was fixed
- a newer revision of the game was found and dumped, it replaced as parent the older one which became a clone
-
Try zaxxonsgm.zip = Zaxxon Super Game
It's an excellent game for the time !! It's a conversion of the Coleco ADAM disk game for ColecoVision
