RetroPie can't connect to dual-band wifi
-
I'm having trouble getting my retropie to connect to my personal wifi network at home.
In case hardware bears mentioning, I use a TP=Link AX1800 Wi-Fi router to set up my home network. I have a hidden dual-band network (2.4 / 5G) with smart connect enabled, which lets the router shift devices between 2.4 and 5 based on load. I also have a visible guest network that is just 2.4 G.
I've tried connecting the retropie to my personal network with multiple methods and none of them seem to work, so I have it running on the guest network at the moment where it connects without a problem. I'm guessing the problem here is that i'm using a raspberry pi 3B+ which doens't support 5G, but I would think there's got to be some way to get it to connect to just the 2.4 band of my private network. Any suggestion / solutions would be appreciated.

Hi,
unfortunately, I do not know how to help with your actual issue; just for anyone reading, according to the specifications, the Raspberry Pi 3 B+ actually does have 5 GHz Wifi: "2.4GHz and 5GHz IEEE 802.11.b/g/n/ac wireless LAN"
