      @refazeshot1

      It is not possible to install it from RetroPie-Setup anymore. If you find a backup of the lr-duckstation you can install it again , check the last messages, it have instructions how can you insert the emulator again (from a backaup)https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/30743/lr-duckstation-experimental-new-playstation-1-emulator/147

      I have backup of lr-duckstation files for Pi3 and Pi4 but i don't know if i have the right to share them.

      My English isn't at a good level.

        @windg i also have duckstation installed and i would like to keep it forever, but i doubt this will work.
        As soon as retropie gets a major update (...bullseye) it may become hard.
        Lets enjoy the time we have been given.

          Did anyone have any luck running games at a higher resolution or faster than PCSX-ReARMed did? Duck/Swanstation is a great emulator for sure but I never found it to be a better fit for PS1 emulation on the Pi 4 than PCSX-ReARMed.

          Not dissing Duck/Swanstation at all but for my money PCSX-ReARMed offered a better experience.

          Currently running:
          Retropie 4.8.9 on a Pi Zero 2W (Overclock Settings: CPU 1400Mhz)
          ES-DE on a GMKtec K6 (Windows 11, 32GB RAM)

            @george-spiggott for me it didn’t emulate any of the Final Fantasy’s games correctly. I found it really lagged in battles and sometimes the sound was all messed up. It also doesn’t emulate Crash team racing correctly. Theirs a handful of other issues too such as the end of Final Fantasy 8 freezing but other then that it is ok I guess. Duckstation at least for me felt like I was playing on real hardware.

              @george-spiggott i have the feeling that with default settings, duckstation run games faster, the same speed as the real hardware. You can fix this and make the games run faster on the pcsx-rearmed if you change the cpu clock from 57 to something higher, i have set it to 75. Also a lot of games on the Pi3 have performance issues with duckstation, pcsxrearmed is the best option here.

                @refazeshot1 CTR is a good example, it's fairly corner case but you can get very good (but not perfect) results with PCSX-ReARMed. Duck/Swanstation really shines with better hardware, It's my go to PS1 emulator/core on my Windows PC. It will be interesting to see how any potential 'Pi 5' hardware improvements interact with it.

                  @george-spiggott I think duckstation is just better overall for the reason that it solves crashes and random freezing on a few games. Games like final fantasy 8, parasite eve 2, star ocean 2, pool hustlers, jedi power battles has been a problematic on rearmed for me but almost plays perfectly on duckstation. Also games like tekken 3 feels a bit odd to play under rearmed but feels more accurate using duckstation.

                    @george-spiggott I found the higher resolution options to be a bit trial and error choosing the right option whereas Rearmed was a simple on/off which I liked. The only difference I found with Duckstation is that it had that Sony logo at the start of games which gave it that extra touch of nostalgia although I didn't play many games with it so I'm sure they were many more advantages. I never found PSX re-armed to be very broke

                      There is in option in lr-pcsxrearmed to turn on the bios logo. It says that it can cause issues but I haven't encountered any and I could have sworn that it was fixed a couple years ago.

                        @quicksilver sweet! I'll take a look! It was a nice touch but it also adds a few seconds to the whole intro. Nice to have the choice though

                          Has anyone got Duckstation to work with Final Fantasy 8? Mine will not run. The same with Final Fantasy 9.
