      I did a fresh clean install, and I got the bootscreen video to make sound by editing sudo nano /opt/retropie/supplementary/splashscreen/asplashscreen.sh to alsa instead of both. When it boots I have sound. But once I am in emulationstation I set the sound to default hdmi and alsa (the same setting on my 4.7 image). The volume keeps going back to 0 when I go back into the sound settings. And I have no sound. Can someone help?

        @cmftblynu somehow I got it to work, I went into the desktop port and played with the sound settings in there. Then I went in and changed it to headphones, then changed it back it still goes to zero on the volume but works now with default, HDMI and ALSA. It is just buggy.
