Reading up on the different regional versions of games, obviously most of the UK/EU ones for certain systems (like Mega Drive) are run at 50Hz (as opposed to 60Hz) by the relevant emulator, as discussed a bit in here. So it might be preferable to use the NTSC version of the rom and not the PAL one to get it running at "full" speed.

But if a 1G1R set were to be built, would that mean that scrapers check the hash or filename of the selected rom and bring back the relevant art, i.e. you might have a load of 'Genesis' boxart for your Megadrive games, as you're using the US roms. So you could end up with a mix of different regional boxart.

That said, I suppose thats technically correct. Or is there a scraper that lets you override that and choose the region of artwork you want regardless of the rom name/hash?

Ah - maybe Stevn Selphs scraper can do that:
        https://retropie.org.uk/docs/Scraper/#parameter-list

        -region string
The order to choose for region if there is more than one for a value. xx is a special region that will choose any region. (default "us,wor,eu,jp,fr,xx")

        And SkyScraper
        https://github.com/muldjord/skyscraper/blob/master/docs/CONFIGINI.md#regionprioseuusssukworjp

I should really read the docs first.... :)

Skraper can also prioritize regional data when available. Not sure about ARRM.

I believe ARRM does. It has a lot of options I have not tried yet. But if it doesn't I know the author is always adding new features

              Hi @ExarKunIv

ARRM can prioritize by two methods

              • Media priority order according to the country you have chosen : http://jujuvincebros.fr/wiki/arrm/doku.php?id=media-assignation-en#order_of_priority_of_the_media_according_to_the_country

              • ROM country priority : http://jujuvincebros.fr/wiki/arrm/doku.php?id=media-assignation-en#rom_country_priority

ARRM (Roms Manager, Scraper for Recalbox, Batocera, Retropie, ES...) : http://jujuvincebros.fr/telechargements2/file/10-arrm-another-recalbox-roms-manager

Thanks for all the suggestions. I should have no problem scraping the region artwork I'm after now.
