Just noticed this, but trying to use the "turbo" mode (numpad asterisk) and the "run fast during startup" options in Advmame don't seem to work on my Pi4 setup. I've validated everything I can think of, including that the key is bound and recognized (it can be seen if I rebind it in the setup menus, so presumably it should work) but when I hit this key nothing happens, ROMs just keep chugging along at essentially 100% normal speed. I can use the Numpad - to set the "how long to run fast for" at startup, and that key is being recognized, but again, no turboing when I relaunch the ROM.

Also, for what it's worth, tried the debug_speedmark option and verified that it shows the red triangle during startup so it should be turbo'd, but isn't. I'd think something like, say, DigDug should have a decent amount of CPU headroom to run faster than stock - it's never showing the red square indicating that the game is too slow. So I'm still confused.

Has anyone else noticed this behavior?
