      Hi All,

I previously used Retropie v4.4 on my PI 3B, I was using an afterglow translucent pad, I don't know the model of the pad it looks similar to an xbox 360 pad but the thumb sticks are in line at the bottom like a ps pad and the d pad is up to the left, the pad is working on my PC, show up as an xbox 360 pad when i plug the dongle in and switch on.

My sd card corrupted and went to read only but wouldn't boot, so i bought a new SanDisk32gb card and have done a fresh install of Retropie version 4.8 for the PI 2-3-zer0-w using rpi imager v1.7.2. Everything goes well untill i get to emulation station where it says no controller detected. no matter what i do i can't get my pad to work, if i boot with the dongle in i end up at a black screen if i boot without the dongle then insert it it's just not recognised, i know the pad is working as i said i used it on an older version of rpi and it works on my PC and my sons pi400.

Another related question, on both my older version of retropie and my sons pi400 it never boots if the dongle for the pad is inserted first, you have to wait untill it says no pad detected then insert the dongle is this normal?

      Thanks guys.
