      Pi Model or other hardware:
      Raspberry Pi 4 Model B/2GB

      Power Supply used:
      USB-C Power Supply, 5.1V 3.0A, Black, UL Listed (from Canadian Pi store)

      RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest):
      4.8.2

      Built From:
      Created the image from a retropie site and installed myself (sometime last year)

      USB Devices connected:

      logitech unify dongle with keyboard and mouse(which doesn't seem to work)
      rocketfish usb to gameport adapter
      Monster USB to 9pin adapter for atari/C64
      
      Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0003 Linux Foundation 3.0 root hub
      Bus 001 Device 004: ID 16c0:27dc Van Ooijen Technische Informatica Joystick
      Bus 001 Device 003: ID 0583:2032 Padix Co., Ltd (Rockfire) RM-203 USB Nest [mode 3]
      Bus 001 Device 005: ID 046d:c52b Logitech, Inc. Unifying Receiver
      Bus 001 Device 002: ID 2109:3431 VIA Labs, Inc. Hub

      Controller used:

      Advanced Gravis gamepad
      C64 Tac-2
      

      Error messages received:
      d-pad left/right are already used and jstest shows only 0 and 1 are engaged. 0 seems to be left and right while 1 is up and down

      Driver version is 2.1.0.
      Joystick (Padix Co. Ltd. 4-axis,4button joystick) has 4 axes (X, Y, Rz, Throttle)
      and 4 buttons (BtnA, BtnB, BtnC, BtnX).
      Testing ... (interrupt to exit)
      Axes:  0:-14864  1: -2703  2:-32767  3:-32767 Buttons:  0:off  1:off  2:off  3:off ^C

      How to replicate the problem:

      1. enter calibration
      2. for dpad up/down, it is recognized
      3. for dpad left/right states already used

      Looking for help on how to make this work in retropi as I am assuming this is only a 2 axis controller?
