After updating RetroPie, the emulator doesn't output Fuse (ZX Spectrum) emulation full screen but has a small window in a large black border. It worked fine before. In the emulator's native menu full screen is ticked.

It also looks like there may be issues with other emulators.

What could be affecting the setting?

@smartgenes Anyone had any ideas on this? Even the script has -fullscreen set. It was working before updating packages.

The fuse package hasn't been updated in quite some time. Unless you had a very old version, any recent update wouldn't have changed anything in the emulator.

Are you using the standalone emulator or the libretro core (lr-fuse) ? Please add some info about your setup, as detailed in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first.
