Reinstall: what files to backup?
-
I want to do a complete reinstall of the system, because recently it becomes really sluggish after I tried to change system settings (like the audio).
What files should I backup in order to retain my configurations (custom controller inputs, additional emulators, emulator settings, etc.) ?
At the moment I backed up the /configs directory? Is that all I need?

If your settings are causing the slowdown, what makes you think it won't still be slow after porting in those same settings?

This is the situation: my setup used to work fine. Also, changing the audio output from HDMI to phone jack and vice versa, didn't gave any problems before. Recently I just added some MSX games and after that, the system became buggy. However, to me it seems strange that this could be the cause of the problems. So I expect that the system already became corrupted before I added the games, or that the Raspberry Pi 4 motherboard got some physical issues.

@thomas327 depends, where do you save your roms? You'd want a backup of them presumably. Don't forget your save files too. Depending on what you're using they'll be saved in other directories (I know drastic and mupen64plus save them in unique locations rather than the rom directory).
If you're using a network drive mount I'd save a copy of your autostart.sh as well

@retropieuser555 I don't care about save game files because this is a project for kids from a friend of mine. I worked on it for some time and then I'd left it because of other priorities. When I touched it again, it started to mess up....
