[SOLVED] Weird sound separation on Night Striker in Mame2003+ (dip switch ignored?)
-
I have stereo speakers wired up in my cab. When I play Night Striker in Mame 2003-plus, only the right speaker plays music. The left one sometimes plays some ambient sound effects. I believe this is due to the sit-down cabinet having front and rear speakers with a cool, pseudo-surround effect, but even when I select 'cab type upright' in dip switches, the sound remains as described.
On FBNeo the sound plays perfectly fine over both speakers, but unfortunately that one is too taxing for my ancient 3B+ to play without frameskip.
Is this a bug in the 2003+ core?

We need this improvement backported from later MAME...
0.115u2: Corrected speaker locations and placement for Night Striker, fixes effects/music plays only on one side (music left, sfx right).
I'll look into it sometime

@arcadez2003 Awesome, thank you for acknowledging.
For the record, I would be perfectly happy playing with the sound as it is now (or even with skipped frames in FBNeo), so if it's too much hassle, you shouldn't go out of your way just on my account.

@WeirdH Well it's no hastle as there is only one change that can be made in MAME2003+ due to having the older style
MAME sound cores, all i can do is switch from left right mixer and make it center mixing instead i'll make the change
then all you have to do is update to the latest version and let me know if you prefer it this wayRegards

Cool, I'll try that.
Is the change already there?EDIT: just updated and yeah, that's a definite improvement. Thank you for the effort!
