      Hello,

So I downloaded a romset of NeoGeo roms (non-merged). I can run them in MVS mode, no problems with that. But I can't switch to AES mode, I just get a screen flashing white/red.

      Here is my config:

      • Retropie 4.8 without any modifications
      • fbneo (version 1.0.0.02 as far as I can tell)

      Here is what I do:

      • Start a NeoGeo game, it uses lr-fbneo as I didn't make any changes to the defaults
      • Enter the quick menu (hotkey + X)
      • Go to "Options -> DIP Switches -> BIOS"
      • Select "AES Asia"
      • Note: the "Neo-Geo mode" is set to "Use bios set in the BIOS dipswitch"
      • Quit RetroArch
      • Start the same game again
      • White/red flashing screen
      • If I open the Quick Menu again, and set the dipswitch BIOS to an MVS option (say "MVS Asia/Europe ver. 6), and quit RetroArch, the game starts again properly in MVS mode

I don't know what I am doing wrong... If that's useful, here is the content of the zip file for Samurai Showdown 4:

I don't see either of the listed AES BIOSes (neo-po.bin or neo-epo.bin) in your file list. Here they are present in my mslug.zip (I don't have Samurai Shodown to compare with.):

FWIW, I use the UNIBIOS for my NeoGeo games, but it too defaults to MVS and if you want AES you have to set it manually for each title, which may be more than you're willing to undertake if you have more than a few titles (I only have 22 in my neogeo folder.)

          Hi @sleve_mcdichael ,

Thanks for your input. I actually can see that my rom zip has unibios 3.2, so if I select that in the dipswitch, it properly boots to unibios. From there, I can select AES mode, so that's good enough for me.

          Thanks!
