2 Weird things with Dennis the Menace in P-UAE Amiga 32...

Ok, hello again. Sorry to have daily questions. I was playing Dennis the Menace Amiga 32CD....well everytime it starts..I can't do anything with the gamepad because the CD32 Joy controller is enabled in port 1. I change it to retropad/gamepad and voila..i can move about and select start and options...I did an override for the game , but it doesn't stick. It keeps reverting back to the CD32 controller at every start.
2nd thing-- Dennis needs to jump during the game and alot..i remapped buttons and see that all my controller buttons do work as i can move his ducking ability around to every button, but Dennis has stopped jumping no matter what button that is mapped to. He can shoot and duck and not jump. What can be the matter????
