Donkey Kong color palette for FBNeo hacked into mame2003-libretro

@mahoneyt944 - I agree, I think everything that could be said has been said. I guess it boils down to two camps. Those that wish to keep the older incorrect colors and those that wish to play with the newer correct colors.
I just don't feel a need to "toggle" between the two. It's almost comical if you think about it. Arguing over a red-ish color vs. a pink-ish/purple-ish color. If anyone notices the color change while playing as a guest in my home I'll be sure to let you know! ;)

Oooops...a slight adjustment to saturation on my monitor and it's off again...Happy Holidays fellas!

Sorry, I see many posts that say we (being you or is it FBNeo?) don't do requests. I might have misread that somewhere but this is good news.
We don't accept new machine requests.
@Riverstorm said in Donkey Kong color palette for FBNeo hacked into mame2003-libretro:
I guess I would ask for a core option or dip switch setting to switch between the old and new colors in FBNeo for Donkey Kong, please. I haven't updated in a while and maybe it's already there, if so thanks in advance.
We'd have implemented it if someone had made the request, but the consensus for those players until now was to use mame2003.

What's not comical is people being extremely narrow-minded about nostalgy while talking about retrogaming.

Oh well looks we're gonna be busy importing all the information from the arcade database into our core documentation files to make sure every game with emulation issues is reported as such at least it'll mean those with an agenda to talk down our core at every turn wont need to now as all the imperfections will be listed in plain sight for all to see.
I never talked down mame2003-plus, on the contrary i have been recommending it, did you read the libretro arcade documentation since i rewrote most of it ?

Did i explicitly mention your name nope, anyway i've better things to be doin than argue the toss on here im off to code now.

Oh, that's cool then, i guess i'm a bit on edge about this with riverstorm repeating again and again that i was against mame2003-plus having this fix, while i obviously wasn't since i was the first person saying it should be fixed.
-
@barbudreadmon - We had a few days of cleanup after getting pounded with several feet of snow in the Midwest. Sorry, when I said it's comical that grown men are arguing about whether to implement a toggle for the "right color/wrong color" it was rhetorical or meant "for the room at large" to lighten the mood. It wasn't personal.
What's not comical is people being extremely narrow-minded
It doesn't make me narrow minded because I don't agree with your point of view.
the consensus for those players until now was to use mame2003.
Who was in that consensus group? Is there a thread somewhere?

...repeating again and again, where?

Forums, reddit, discord, i don't remember exactly and i don't care anymore, you are also free to think i made this up one year ago in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/271424.

In literally each of your messages from https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-libretro/pull/501#issuecomment-1346619336 to https://retropie.org.uk/forum/post/284657

i don't remember exactly
That's convenient.
In literally each of your messages
I read through that link and not once did anyone tell you it doesn't belong in mame2003-plus, that's a blatant lie and you even posted the link to prove it! Why?
-
@Riverstorm ok, i have enough of your harrasment and trolling, for a whole week you kept trolling everyday about me being against having that fix applied to MAME2003-PLUS, while i was actually the first person to ask for this fix back in 2018 (https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/issues/290), then now you are denying ever pestering me about it while actually still pestering me about it.
Your next bullshit is probably gonna be "but you flagged it as having incorrect colors and said not to fix it", AS STATED IN THE PR ADDING THAT FLAG (4 YEARS LATER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!), IT WAS ONLY A FALLBACK SOLUTION UNTIL SOMEONE FINALLY DECIDED TO FIX IT (OR NOT, THE DECISION WAS UP TO THEM), BECAUSE HAVING THE PROPER INFORMATION IS BETTER THAN NOT : https://github.com/libretro/mame2003-plus-libretro/pull/1267
As for the second part, I NEVER SAID THAT :
@barbudreadmon said in New Retropie user with questions about MAME!:
I'm not telling you to fix that emulation since some players like it that way
"I'm not telling you to" has a different meaning from "I'm telling you not to", learn grammar, or maybe learn english altogether.
Sorry to the mods about all the caps, but that guy finally managed to make me snap. And things are probably getting worse in my next answer, because i still have a lot more to say about a certain contributor of the mame2003-plus project openly trying to sabotage the FBNeo libretro core a few months ago.

That's enough.
