      I've been testing out AI Service auto translate feature and so far it's been working great for the most part. I've been using it on MSX, Famicom, Super Famicom, DOS, and X68000 games to test out and translating Japanese > English. English > German or French is working amazing.

      One question, though. I've noticed that it will crash back to Emulation Station about one in 20 or so times using it. Sometimes in the exact same spot in a game, sometimes completely at random.

      Like I had one X68000 game that would crash in the same spot about 5 times in a row, but then work on the 6th time.

      Do you know if there is anything that might cause that? Wasn't sure if was a RAM issue on the Pi (I tested it on both a 1gb and an 8gb board with the same results on the same game) or if there were any other settings I could look into that might make it crash less.

      I've tried turning the "Pause Toggle" on and off and I've tried both the speech and image mode and seem to get the same random crashes.

      I'm using the most recent RetroPie build and I have everything updated to whatever the recent versions are on the Setup-Script. No overclock or anything fancy, just a pretty straight forward build.

        So is no one using this feature?

        I was really hoping someone else had at least tried to enough to figure out what the random crashes would be.

        I've been using it for a couple of days now and I find that some games, I can translate 100 screens and it works without flaw, and then other games, 2 or 3 screens into it and it crashes every time without fail.

        Any ideas?

          @TPR

          I have experienced this flaw also.
          Not that I am using it very often anymore.

          Could be a limit by the AI server and it could also be a bug in RetroArch or both.

          You should check the issues for RetroArch on github.

            @Folly I did. Didn't really find anything other than there have been similar bugs reported but no real solutions or discussions. but I think you're right. I think it just is a bit buggy. Honestly, while it doesn't work as well as I would have hoped, it does work better than I would have expected. I'm surprised we don't hear much about this. It's super helpful if only for translating things like menus and which discs to insert, etc.
