      Re: Need help getting I2S audio to work

      I'm stuck with an adafruit-like I2S board with MAX98357A, trying to use it with a raspberry zero 2w.

      Wiring is correct, checked multiple times, i've followed the adafruit guide, the manual part because the script doesn't work with retropie 4.8 (buster)

      https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-max98357-i2s-class-d-mono-amp/raspberry-pi-usage

      alsamixer shows audio control, aplay-l and aplay-L seem all to output correct things but i only obtain crackling and popping and a lot of noise when i reproduce some sound.

      what else can i try?

        See if the advice from https://forums.raspberrypi.com/viewtopic.php?t=328753 helps.

          @mitu
          tried that dtoverlay:

          dtoverlay=max98357a,no-sdmode

          because i don't have any pin attached to sd pin, but i have the same behavior: no audio, only pops and noise
