Hi! I tried to update from stretch to buster via this guide:

Now Emulationstation doesn't autostart anymore, and Retropie is exiting to command line with following errors:

      lvl0: Error creating SDL window!
Could not get create GLES window surface
      lvl0: Renderer failed to initialize!
      lvl0: Window failed to initialize!

At this point, typing emulationstation in command works, its just the auto login that doesn't. Emulstation is set to boot in Retropie setup settings ofc.

Any ideas where I messed up and what to do? Updated to wrong version (pi4) somewhere along the line?

Current info (not sure what else needed):

      Debian 10.13
      Kernel 6.143-v7+
      Model 3B + Rev 1.3
      Retropie 4.8.4

In-place OS upgrades are not supported by neither RaspiOS or RetroPie - on a Pi. Re-install using a Buster image (latest image should be fine) and back-up/restore your config and roms.

@mitu Thanks, and sorry. Will try to find a guide for this then.
