Controller config for Mame 2010 not saving
-
Hello,
I'm using Mame 2010 on a RPi4 and i'm having an issue as the controller config wont save.
I had set up the controls and then rebooted but it doesn't save.
I'm pressing TAB in the game and using the 'Input for this game' option to configure the controls.
I'm using this option as I need to set up gear shift option which isn't available on other config menus.
Thanks

Hi, anybody have any ideas on why my button config isn' saving?
I've added some more detail on my set up if that helps.
Pi Model: Raspberry Pi 4 B 1GB
Power Supply used: 5v Power
RetroPie Version: 4.8
Built From: Pre made SD Image on RetroPie website
USB Devices connected: Keyboard
Controller used: Trying to save keyboard commands first before adding a controller
Error messages received: None
Emulator: Mame2010Thanks

Please post the exact RetroPie version you have and a verbose log from running the emulator and trying to save/change the input. Use pastebin.com to post the log and not the topic.

Thanks for your help with this. So my issue has changed slighlty, i've managed to get the controller inputs saved and I can see the .cfg file in the Mame2010 folder but my controller no longer works unless i unplug it and then plug it back in again.
I'm using Retropie 4.8.6
Here's the pastebin link to my log
[https://pastebin.com/fb88iVcP](link url)It all works well but I'd like to be able to use it without having to unplug and reconnect each time. The controller is AT32Mega board with buttons

@mitu I forgot to mention steps that I took to try and fix this.
I went to Retropie setup > Manage Packages > Emualtion Station > Configuere > Delete inputs and then I remapped inputs on the start up screen.
Thanks again

It changed so slightly that's another issue altogether.

Does this happen for all games, or just for Mame 2010, or just for Mame 2010 + Outrun ? I don't see in the log file any issues, except for the controller being disconnected/reconnected (which I assume it was done by you and not automatic).
I assume the controller works fine in EmulationStation ? -
Thanks for looking @mitu. I've come to the conclusion its the controller board i'm using and not RetroPie causing the issue.
It still intermitently working and I have to plug in and unplug it as you saw from the log. I also have a weird thing where the main menu on Retro Pie is scrolling left and right on its own. See video here
[link text]https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UMZlJoy7EsIO91KzJIkunKqj49Bl-Hf4/view?usp=drive_link(link url)I've tried 2 different boards, 2 different Raspberru Pi devices, simpler code but I'm getting a weird left and right twitch on the menu.
I'll open a new topic as this one is a totally different subject.
