      I bought a Pi 5 because I remember having a Pi 3 years ago and wanted something to play at work. However there is no version for the Pi 5 on the download page :/ Is it coming soon? Otherwise I'll just send it back and buy a Steam Deck instead.

      Thanks.

        @scaramoosh
        The only option you have for now is to do a manual instillation on top of Raspberry PI OS Bookworm lite. But, if you can buy a Steamdeck then better choose this, is more stronger than a Pi5.

          @scaramoosh if you are in a hurry for something. Best to get a steam deck. There is no ETA for a official release for Retropie.

          As said you can manually install it. But there are things that are not 100% right now and will take time and work to get it there. Most are working fine. Just not all

            Ok thanks for the replies, I didn't realise it wasn't supported, I just assumed it would be because it's a Raspberry Pi. I'll send it back and just order a Steam Deck, I was hoping not to spend so much money and why I bought one of these.... But oh well.

              @scaramoosh I don't see why the alternative to a RPI 5 would be a Steam Deck - why don't you get a RPI 4 or 3 ?

                @mitu Cause I was watching a video of the 5 and it's much more powerful for 3D emulation than the 4 and when I had the 3 it struggled even with N64. I just didn't realise he wasn't using Retropie to emulate and I just want something easy I can use with a controller while sitting bored at work.

                I ordered a Steam Deck now anyways and opened up a returned on Amazon.

                A shame the Pi 5 doesn't seem to have the support the others have, but I did see lots of video thumbs on Youtube of people saying it sucks so maybe I should have watched one of those before ordering.

                  @scaramoosh you do realize the pi5 has only been out a short while. The dev don't get it earlier then the rest of us. They got them when we did.

                  So it takes time to get a image done. It took almost a year after the pi4 was out before a official image was released by Retropie.

                  So it will be about that long for the pi5 my guess.
