Video cutting out when loading games
-
I've been having this issue when loading games ever since I tried to lower my pi's output resolution down to 480p from my tv's native 768p. Whenever I load a game, the video temporarily cuts out for a few seconds. I've tried to fix this by changing settings in the /boot/config, but nothing seemed to have an effect. I know it's not the worst issue that could occur, but the start of game and console intros getting cut off has started to get annoying. If anyone here has an idea of how this issue could be fixed, it would be very much appreciated.
System Information:
Pi Model: 4
Power Supply: P2920 AC Adapter ~3.0A
RetroPie version: 4.8.6
Built From: Pre-made RetroPie image.
USB Devices connected: None except controller.
Controller used: 8bitdo Pro 2 wired.
Error Message Received: None
Emulator: All of them
How to replicate the problem: Change your RetroPie output resolution to something different than the monitor preferred resolution. -
This doesn't seem like a RetroPie issue, but your TV being very slow to change the resolution and blanking the display (for too long) during the transition.
Does the same kind of - slow - transition happens with other displays/TVs ? -
@mitu Sorry for the late reply. The issue in question still occurred when I tested my Pi on other TVs. As my main TV doesn't have any video issues when displaying low resolution game systems, I've kind of assumed the problem was something with my Pi's video settings.
