Trackball works on Mame2003, not fbneo

I recently picked up a trackball and spinner for my retropie cabinet. It worked right away on Arkanoid and Tron which are running with Mame2003. However, it is not working on Centipede which is running on fbneo. Any suggestions what I need to do in order to fix it? Thanks on advance
