      Hello,

I've just finished setting up an RPi3 with the RetroPie 4.0 image downloaded from this site. I'm trying to get 2-player arcade games working (eg. Galaga) using two Logitech F710 controllers. Both controllers have been setup and are working fine in multi player games (eg. Gauntlet, where both players play at the same time), but 2-player games seem to require that both players use the same controller. IE; in games where player 1 and player 2 alternate, they have to swap controllers back and forth between each other. This seems odd, as the only way that I can get a 2-player game to start is by using the Start button on the 2nd controller.

I'm using the default emulator (lr-mame2003) and v0.78 roms. Other than configuring the controllers (both F710's) via the EmulationStation GUI, I haven't changed anything else. That is, I haven't edited any config files.

Am I doing something really silly? Have I missed something obvious during my research? Is this just how lr-mame2003 works?

Thanks in advance for your time.

      Regards,
      Bruce

        Hi

I am no expert. But mame is emulating the actual arcade machine. So in arcade games such as galaga there was only one joystick so not sure there would be a way for it to emulate a 2nd joystick

There was as you noticed 2 start buttons though.

I have not tried this but what u could do is go into the mame configure screen. Hit tab with a keyboard plugged in. tell it to use a button on your 1st controller for 2 player start.
