All N64 Emulators Black Screen, No Sound.
-
Hello all,
I have gone through the read first list - and hope i didn’t mess anything up.
I have a raspberry pi 4b, with the manufacturers power supply.
I used the raspberry pi imager to flash the image to an sd card.
I am running retropie V4.8
I did not use a guide.
The file name with path is “/home/pi/RetroPie/roms/n64/Pokemon Puzzle League (USA).n64”I replaced the internals of an Arcade Legends Ultimate with retropie, and have 2 players worth of game pads connected through Bluetooth. I also have a powertek corded Nintendo switch controller connected to a usb, along with a usb power wire connecting a speaker(audio goes through aux cord).
My problem is whenever I launch a n64 rom, the screen goes black, and no sound is played. I only have pokemon puzzle league, however online charts told me the rom is not broken. If I use mupen64plus-GLideN64, it displays “init noise textures please wait” for a split second, and then back to a black screen.
Please let me know if there is any more information I can provide - thank you very much in advance.

-
It was in fact that I had not updated retro pie on installation - I can’t believe I did not think of that.
The rom was also no good, I did try the correct one earlier, and it didn’t work so I went searching for that one.
But the rom is working now!
Thank you very much.
