I just noticed a huge input lag when playing Mega Man on NES, didn't notice it before.

So I enabled "Game" mode on the TV and suddenly the input lag (14 frames) is gone. What a difference in gaming experience.

However, now everything looks awful and I think I have to enable scanlines to dirty up the picture.

How much lag does those filters introduce?

Thank you for your hard work, you are creating a near perfect product!!!

depends on what filters. with crt-pi, no lag. you could always test yourself :)

You could just apply a scanline overlay that doesn't eat up resources.

Yes, overlay can be used as a border or to produce a CRT scanline effect. The overlay will reduce input lag generated by filters as well. I use filters on the PC version of RetroArch, but for the RP, I use custom overlays that I've put together that has a border with an embedded screen and scanlines or dot matrix effect depending on the system.
