Retropie 4.8.9 and ScummVM at Pi 3
-
Hello, trying to update my Retropie to 4.8.9 at a Raspberry Pi 3, only one thing I had trouble, with ScummVM. Retropie Setup updated it to 2.9.0, but I get the following error in the log file:
amixer: Unable to find simple control 'PCM',0
Any ideas?
Thanks

This is not a message frm ScummVM, but probably from a 3rd party (volume control) script used in your system.
What does 'I had trouble' means ? Is the emulator not starting at all ? Does it start but has errors ? Please add the rest of the info asked in https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first to your post. -
Thanks for answer, I´m using a Raspberry Pi 3, I started from a Retropie 4.8 image from this site, and updated to 4.8.9 from Retropie Setup. With 4.8 it works, when I update to 4.8.9 it brokes.
The effect is that ScummVM never opens, just go back to EmulationStation.
The other emulators, works just fine as expected, only with ScummVM I have this problem.scummvm scummvm /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm/iceman.svm bash /home/pi/RetroPie/roms/scummvm/+Start\ ScummVM.sh "iceman"
runcommand.log:

Configure ScummVM to use the software renderer instead of the OpenGL one and it should work. This can be done by starting ScummVM without any games and modifying the settings.

Already have it that way:

OK, I can reproduce this with sky also - I'll take a closer look.

@mitu Thanks, keep waiting for news :)

Ok, so I think the default graphics options may not work OOB for the Pi3 (?), so try to change them with:
- Graphics Mode = OpenGL
- Game 3D Renderer = OpenGL with Shaders
-
@mitu It doesnt work, but I went back to the start, and restored my working backup image (4.8), copied apart ScummVM folder in \opt\emulators, updated everything to 4.8.9, and restored the ScummVM old folder containing ScummVM 2.6 and it works with all the rest updated :)
The problem is with ScummVM 2.9 on Pi 3.
