Emulation Station crashing in Pi4
-
Hi,
I'm new to Retropie, but I have some experience with Linux.
I run into issues after installing the "xpadneo" driver.
Pi Model or other hardware: RPi4
Power Supply used: 2A/5.2V
RetroPie Version Used (eg 3.6, 3.8.1, 4.1 - do not write latest): 4.8
Built From: SD image made on PC with Imager
USB Devices connected: USB Keyboard
Controller used: USB Controller Microsoft Sidewinder, xbox wireless controller
Error messages received: Emulationstation crashed
Verbose log (if relevant):
Guide used: (Mention if you followed a guide)
File: (File with issue - with FULL path)
Emulator: (Name of emulator - if applicable)
Attachment of config files: (PLEASE USE PASTEBIN.COM FOR LARGE LOGS)
How to replicate the problem: after setup of the controllers i installed xpadneo. After the reboot when I want to enter the Retropie Configuration to try connect the xbox wireless via usb, it immidiatelly crashed. removing xpadneo does not solve it. -
xpadneo
is exclusively used for Bluetooth connected controllers, it will not be used for controllers that are connected via USB.
EmulationStation crashing usually means the controller's USB connection is not stable and it keep disconnecting. You can rundmesg -w
from an SSH connection while the controller is connected and you start EmulationStation to see if the connect/disconnect events are printed.
