RetroPie Ubuntu 16.04 LTS 64bit Flavor - Controller and Dreamcast Core Issue
-
Hi all,
Sorry to be a bother, but I've searched high and low but I can't seem to find how to fix the following:- From the Ubuntu RetroPie Setup screen I can't figure out which one is the dreamcast core, if it's not on the distro please help provide me instructions on how to install it outside of the setup screen.
- It seems as though controllers (currently running a cheap original Nintendo USB controller from Ebay) work within the menu but not in-game.
I'm pretty good at picking up stuff myself but I just can't seem to find anything on either of these topics (and if I do they don't seem to have a conclusion) so feel free to just drop URLs on me.
Again, sorry for the bother. -
so the dreamcast installer is reicast there is another which is lr-reicast
should be in either optional or experimental either orIm noticing some funny things in x86 and controller mapping.
USB SNES controller works fine
Xbox 360 pad installed driver it worked fine
had to reimage
did same thing installed xpad and thing would not configure
when launching a game it would give the pad 0/0 not configured error
and I double checked that not only was xboxdrv installed but enabledIf your trying things maybe try another controller
-
Yup, just found the reicast...wouldn't you know after days of searching I did in fact find it in the retropie setup under manage packages>manage optional packages....ugh....
I'll try a different controller but playing NES with any other controller than one that has the look and feel is just...well...wrong...IMHO :)
Thanks for the answer! -
Just saying as a test, not as a permanent thing. Have seen some grips about retroarch controls.

That post seems to indicate the same problem you are having
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3698/retropie-4-retroarch-controls-changing/3
He seems to have fixed it with the following solution
Get rid of that file, and use this original one instead
http://pastebin.com/raw/1TmhJ2tDYou can remove the old one like this
rm /opt/retropie/configs/mame-libretro/retroarch.cfg
If its easier, you can choose to re-install mame-2003 from binary and it should re-create the file - (or just use the pastebin one I put above)If you are on 4.02 it shouldnt overwrite this under most circumstances now.
