My Pallet NES :)
-
Hi guys,
I made the following case for my RPI:
Maybe it can act as some inspiration to you. :)
Also, if you're interested there's also a build video at:
Cheers!

As a fellow woodworker I applaud this project! Pallet wood! Brilliant! I get hard wood pallets all the time and this is an inspiration.
I would love to see a video of this in action.

@battlecat Thanks!
Hardwood pallet wood? I can hardly get hardwood in any form here. :(
My plan was, if I were ever to do this again, would be to use contrasting woods and build it out of a few more "real" pieces (rather than pretending it to have a top and bottom part, etc).
Hope you'll come up with something. :) -
Yeah there is a few places around my neighborhood that gives me all I want. It is usually oak or some type of redwood. Nice stuff. Sometimes Pine but not usually.
-
@battlecat That is amazing. Here, "everything" is pine, and even then, they aren't that available since they are reused
-
Amazing build mate!
Props from the UK :)
-
@PingSpike Thank you! :)
-
This is just amazing. I admire your skills :)
-
@Brigane The thing is, I have no skills at all. :)
I'm a complete amateur in building stuff, the only experience I have is looking at people build stuff on YouTube, and then try to pretend that I too know how to do it. Apparently, it works quite well. So, now go do what I do! 😃 -
My exact reaction. Great work!!!
-
Nice! Looks cool. Love the use of stain, and how you used the 'lid' to store the controllers!
-
@elihaun Thanks! :)
-
Nice. How do those NES controllers feel compared to real ones? And which ones are they?
-
@Ekstreme Can't really tell the exact "which one" without some digging, but they are the "around $2 a piece from china"-ones and arrived overly sensitive and erratic (check my fix video for it if you want to see the difference).
As I remember the NES controllers, I can't recall them being "spongy" like these are. This has not been a issue for me though. Don't know how they would fare in Track&Field type things yet.
Contributions to the project are always appreciated, so if you would like to support us with a donation you can do so here.
