Can't launch run command or operate retropi setup with controller

I've got a USB joypad/controller configured to work in ES and roms, but it doesn't work to launch runcommand or do anything in retro pi setup or rpi setup etc
I guess this means it's input isn't being mapped to anything outside ES or romsCan anyone help? Cheers

Same with me - have you figured it out?

@tfpHumorBlog yes I have actually, it's because the joy2key script is configured to use input of js0 by default but my controller was js1
So make sure your joystick is js0 input
