Hi, I'm running a Pi2B and recently re-imaged my SD card to 4.0.2 and have run into some unexpected sound issues that I can't seem to fix. Previously, I ran an amp through the 3.5mm jack with no issues, but since reimaging I'm suddenly dealing with an extremely low base volume. If I force the 3.5mm audio option things are quiet, even if the amp is cranked. If I set it to HDMI the audio is barely audible. Things appear fine in the EmulationStation menus and in Retroarch so I'm not sure why my base volume is suddenly so low. Any ideas? I've checked the hardware connections and they're all fine..,

Do you mean the volume is low, or the sound is lacking bass ? Just to check :)

Did you increase system volume via alsamixer (retropie menu -> audio - you will need use a keyboard or can do it over ssh connection via command alsamixer) ? When you say things are fine in Emulation Station and RetroArch - which emulators are you having trouble with ?

Thanks for the tip. To answer your questions, yes I meant base and not bass, and I was having the volume issue across the board. I had previously adjusted the alsamixer but your note prompted me to go back and double check it. Interestingly enough it had reset to 40%. I adjusted it and then went back in to triple check and it had again reset so it looks like it wasn't saving the command properly. I re-imaged using a backup and everything was fine. Appreciate the tip!
