Can't enter RGUI on NES cores

When I press the hotkey to go to the Retroarch XMB, (Select + X). It will freeze the game, If I press it again. It exits the game. This will only happen on the NES emulators. fceumm and Nestopia. This will not happen on ANY other NES core.

@lilbud can you reproduce it using rgui as menu driver?
I'm asking because maybe your issue is related to what is described here:
