PS3 controller locks after game and emulator idle.
-
Pi3 model b running 4.0.2 and using official PS3 controllers.
If I'm playing an N64 game and leave everything idle, the PS3 controller won't automatically disconnect, but instead lock controls. The controller will appear to be connected but without any button response. If I hold the PS button to disconnect and reconnect, all four red LEDS will blink and fail to reconnect. This forces me to cut power to the Pi without properly shutting down. -
Please let me know about any config files I should present to help resolve this. The 4.0.2 image I use was built from scratch; only the roms and savestates are being used from a previous backup. I used some parts of rp video manager, selph's scraper, and emulation station's scraper.

I have the same problem playing psx games. It has happened to me even while the USB cable was plugged in. Really frustrating. The only salvation of the game save is having a keyboard plugged in at all time. I hope this gets fixed

Now fixed my problem by entering this:
sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgradeseems i was running an old version or something. Found it on this page:

@thord I did what you said and the problem persists. I'm on my original install of 4.0.2 on a Pi 3b. Should I try to update all installed packages? Why am I asking? That's what I'm going to try anyway. With this problem I've also noticed that my iclever bluetooth, mini keyboard will function during a dreamcast game, but only in the command prompt (which displays along with the game for glitchy reasons I presume). The game won't respond to the keyboard after idle. I might try plugging a usb ibuffalo snes pad. Wonder if it works to plug it in after the idle glitch. I also wonder if my iclever keyboard, bluetooth dongle is interfering with the on chip bluetooth.
