I'm using 4.0.2 and trying to run ti99sim. I placed TI-994A.ctg in both /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/ti99 and /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS for good measure. The case of the .ctg file has been verified as exactly as I have it here.

However, when I choose a ROM in ES, it displays the screen stating errors are logged in /dev/shm/runcommand.log, etc, then screen is blank for a few seconds and returns to the ROM list. runcommand.log contains the message "Unable to locate console ROMs!".

If I place the .ctf file in the same location as the game ROMs it works, but this doesn't seem correct. Is there a way to find out what directory it's expecting it to be in?

@jrmymllr, were you able to resolve this issue? I'm trying the same setup (installed from experimental packages), and I have hit the same problem. As you said, it appears that ti99sim is checking for system roms in a different directory than /home/pi/RetroPie/BIOS/ti99.

@Gyromite7 in theory BIOS should be symlinked but there are some systems that only run with BIOS in the system folder. I'll look into it. Possible a config was missed.

@Gyromite7 If you update your setup script and reinstall ti99 it should now properly look for the bios in the bios folder.

@jrmymllr I ran into this same issue today. There is a symlink in the ti99sim directory that is looking for a file TI-994A.ctg in the RetroPie/BIOS folder. Ensure the file is the exact same case and NOT in the TI99 folder within the BIOS folder.
              Good luck!
