Hello RetroPie community, this is my first post and I am a complete rookie when it comes to RaspberryPi (never done anything with it actually) and Linux.

What I intend to do is to create a RetroPie setup so I can carry it around and play it with my friends (at least 2 players). After some reading, here's what I came up with:
-I have a RaspberryPi 1 B, but I think it's not even compatible, and even if it is, which model is the most recommended nowadays for RetroPie? I've heard that the RasPi 3 model B gets a better performance overall, what do you guys think? Or should I just go and try doing the RetroPie config with the old model?
-Are wireless controllers working just fine or should I try to make a wired setup?
-I have a PS3 controller and I know it's compatible, but can I configure it to work both with the USB wire or with a bluetooth dongle (Plug-n-play style)?
-Most of my friends have a PS4. Can it work with both PS3 and PS4 controllers simultaneously (both wired or wireless or mixed)?
-I have no bluetooth dongles. Are there any specifications in order for them to work with the PS3/PS4 controllers?

Ok and here are the materials that I think are needed, please correct me if I forgot something or if any of them is not correct:
      -RaspberryPi model...(???)
      -HMDI cable
      -SD card (at least 8GB)
-USB micro B power supply (2A)
      -Bluetooth dongles (not sure)
      -PS3/4 controllers
      -Case (optional)

Sorry for the long post, but I appreciate any help! Thanks in advance.

@VictorLink if you get a Pi 3 starter kit you should be in good shape. They usually come with a Pi, case, power supply, SD card, and HDMI cable. The Pi 3 has Bluetooth built in.

Just grab the Raspberry Pi 3. It has Wifi and Bluetooth built in, so you don't need to worry about those dongles there, and could save you money if you don't have them already. Then just get a 2.5A power supply and the rest of the stuff as you listed. If you are carrying it around to friend's houses and stuff, probably best to get a case too.

Alright, I've decided to buy a Pi3 Kit and go with it, since it comes with all those built in functionalities. Thanks for the fast replies!
