You guys were lucky because I was a little busy with RetroAchievements tests this week! :-)

But I'm happy with the 3rd place (and specially happy with the current status of RetroAchievements in RetroArch).

Let's go to the 7th MAME ROW: https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/4999/mame-row-7

        @meleu

How did the RetroAchievements experiment go? I've been curious about those but never fully bothered.

Would love to read your impressions and thoughts.

        Best!

@pjft said in MAME ROW #6: Pang:

How did the RetroAchievements experiment go?

Do you mean the recent experiments or the RetroAchievements in general?

The recent experiments was basicaly: 1) creating save states right before get some problematic achievements (those which wasn't working in RetroArch but working with the retroachievements.org official emulators) and sending them to let the developer check what's wrong. 2) compiling his code with the fixes. 3) making tests and taking detailed notes. 4) sending detailed feedback. 5) repeating some of these steps.

But it worth the work. Now RetroArch seems to be "fully" compatible with RetroAchievements feature (as I posted here).

If you are talking about the RetroAchievements in general, I think it is a really cool feature. Sometimes it's good to keep track of your progress in a game (beat stage 1, beat stage 2, etc.), sometimes there are funny achievements to get. (finish the stage 1 of Contra (NES) without touching the water), and also there are really challenging achievements (beat the game without dying or with no continues).

This feature is cool because it increases your willingness to play a game that you had left aside. :-)

You can check the official site to learn more about it: retroachievements.org
And check the wiki to learn how to set it up in your RetroPie: https://github.com/retropie/retropie-setup/wiki/RetroAchievements

I was referring to your recent experiments, but I appreciate your detailed answer! To be honest I had read about it but never really set it up - I suppose, partially laziness. I should look into that, as it looks really cool, and I'm thankful that you were helping the dev out with those kinks! :)

I'll look into the site and your forum thread!

Best, have a great day sir.
            Paulo

As far as I can remember the hi-score here is from @GtBFilms : 235110.

The @UDb23 's new Pang overlay made me play it again. And this is my hi-score: 238350 270270 340830
