Method To Copy 64GB SD to Empty 64GB SD ?
-
Hi,
I've got two RPI2's.
I've completed setting up one of the RPi2's with RetroPie and game ROMs.My question now is how can I copy the one 64GB MicroSD card to another 64GB MicroSD card?
I want two identical RPi2's with RetroPie.
I have Windows 10 Pro 64Bit with a MicroSD card reader.
(but can install Xubuntu 16.04 64Bit if necessary to another unused desktop)Thanks!

I'm not sure if it will work on Win 10 but this works on Win 7. Download and install Win32 Disk Imager. Plug in your card reader with the setup into your PC. Enter a name for what the file will be called on your PC and be sure it has a .img extension. Click on read and you will get a copy of your sd card on your PC. When completed replaced the sd card with the new one and enter the name of the file you just made in the blank field to the left of the folder icon. Click write and it will warn you that you will be overwriting whatever is on the net sd card. If all goes well you will have an exact copy of your sd card.

Great minds and circus clowns think alike. I wish I knew about the wiki page before I wrote all this :-(

Hi,
I tried to use "win32diskimager" and it does copy the 64GB MicroSD card to a file.
But problem is that when restoring the file to another empty 64GB MicroSD card
it has error at end, something like "not enough space" ?
(both cards are identical - both brand and size - so I am confused)Please advise, I have one day to clone a working MicroSD card to another one, thanks!

i think SD cards actually vary in usable size, so i guess your new card is slightly smaller than your previous. probably want to do something like http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/71892/how-do-i-resize-a-disk-image-device to shrink the existing image by as much as you can, then try again.

Two things to try. First you can use a program called SDFormater to format the new SD card and make sure it is clean. Second when you make your backup image you can click the MD5 Hash option and it will verify your copy.
