Native N64 save sometimes .fla
-
Hi everyone. I have a question about native emulator saves (not save states) that I can't seem to find anywhere. I'm on RetroPie 4.0.2 on a Pi3. When I run certain N64 roms (specifically Paper Mario) and save inside the game, it creates a
.fla
file (like this:Paper Mario (U) [!].fla
), instead of the more typical.srm
.I'm trying to share my saves across devices between my pi and my android phone, and for some reason RetroArch on my phone (android app version 1.3.6, from July 2016) will create a
Paper Mario (U) [!].srm
file.Does anyone know why RetroArch on the rPi is creating
.fla
files for some games? Is that a setting I can control? -
Are you sure that you're running 'lr-Mupen64plus' and not 'Mupen64plus'?

That's a good point. I was actually using one of the mupen64plus cores (Glide64). Is there a way to configure lr-mupen64plus to use glide64 for video emulation? I can't see any way to do that. Is there another 'emulator' I have to install via the Retropie menu?

No, but 'lr-GLupeN64' uses glide64. However, you'll be sacrificing the performance you get from the standalone 'Mupen64plus'.
