My GamboyZero (WIP)
-
So I've not documented this very well as I've bin some what swept up in all of this.
I've learnt so much in such a short space of time. Mainly from mistakes but also from the Sudo Mod community.
I'm gonna be running it on Retropie as I've already built a custom image for my GBZ.
As this is my first build I've gone very basic.
But there are thing's I've learnt the hard way.
- SMT soldering is hard, I broke 2 Powerboost's before working how to desolder SM LED's
- Things can go bang for no reason. My soldering iron decided to randomly explode on me one evening when I wasn't even in the process of using it.
- Be gentle. I broke a Pi zero trying to tidy up some wiring and ended up pulling a test pad off. Thus breaking it beyond repair.
- Plan ahead. I sort bumbled into a lot things and ended up making minor cosmetic mistakes with the case.
But all in all I'm still enjoying it and plan to do a second build when Kite releases his AIO.
The three holes at the top are status LED's (Charging, Power on and Low Battery)
This has bin the biggest pain trying to remove the SM Led's with out destroying the contacts.I'm now literally waiting on Helder's AIO and then this one is all done. With any luck I can get one in the coming week. :D
This has given me alot more confidence to tackle some more challenging builds in the future.
And as a side note with some spare parts I won't be using I made a nice little bit of art for the bedroom wall
I've got a few more photos to post but they are currently still on my phone.
