Issue with First person shooters on Mupen64plus

Hi All,
I am having a strange issue on Doom64, Quake64 and Quake2 on Mupen64plus. It is like the system is detecting that the move left button is permanently pressed in, even when not touching the controller. I am using an xbox 360 wired usb controller and not having the issue on any other N64 games, nor any other systems games. I am running Retropie 4.1 on a Raspberry Pi 3B.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
