Can I post a wiki article for using screen?
-
A lot of people have trouble with the LONG time it takes to build some packages on the RPi and I just wanted to write an article on the wiki for "screen" - the program allows you to create a persistent session on your RPi so you can exit out and disconnect entirely from the RPi while it does it's thing. It really would be a short page but I figure it could help a ton of people.

@ProxyCell I was a big fan of the screen program. Then I knew tmux. Well, for a final user point of view they do the same, but tmux config files are easier to read. :-)
edit: for a developer point of view, they say that tmux code is easier to maintain. -

It would be great if you wrote that article. I just learned about "screen" an hour ago and use it for running a minecraft server in a persistent session (on a different Pi btw).

@ProxyCell It's a useful feature to be sure. Since RetroPie is built on Raspbian and can also be installed on Ubuntu, there are all sorts of underlying functions of linux, we could really have a wiki on retropie, retroarch, and linux... any suggestions on the best way to lay it all out?
