I emailed IndieGogo Support to report the campaign. But they may not listen unless they get more reports.

This campaign is promoting the raspberry pie / retro pie software interface which is not developed by this company so why should they profit from it. They are profiting from other peoples Intellectual Property which is ILLEGAL.Post the responses you get here in this forum thread.

I normally don't get involved in stuff like this, because I'm pretty skeptical that it does any good, but I reported it as well. I went so far as to explain non commercial open source licenses to the best of my ability. Who knows, maybe all this will raise an eyebrow or two.

...Well, that was fast. About five minutes after the expected auto-mailing, notifying me that my message was received, I got an email from Sharon at the Indiegogo Trust & Safety Team. The first paragraph seems to be in the ball park of unique, followed by the typical form messaging.

@mediamogul as far as technicalities go, even though they underhandedly received consent for use of tronkyfrans assets, they based the theme off the simple theme which is a non commercial licence.
https://github.com/HerbFargus/es-theme-tronkyfran
They are skirting around the selling of non GPL licences by providing an installer though as far as intent is concerned it's no different than providing an installer that installs ROMs. When all is said and done though unless you own the rights to the copyrighted content or hire a lawyer, indiegogo has the final decision on whether or not they'll continue to support this illegal or at the very least unethical project. With any luck they'll come to the same conclusion as kisskissbankbank did with nostalgames and shutter it or they'll pull a Kickstarter and let it go through like mini emu just to get their sweet cut of the dough.
All the same, the support from the community is much appreciated. It's good to know there are still those in our community governed by morals and proper human decency. We Make RetroPie for you.

Thanks Herb
I've had so much fun and enjoyment building my arcade cabinet and playing old retro games on what is an amazing interface and operating system that has been put together by an amazing group of people and community. I get so annoyed when I see this sort of stuff so I will always call it out and get in behind a good cause and community.
