Hot keys

Hi guys, I can no longer use hot keys on my arcade controllers any more. I used to be able to exit by pressing select and start but after messing whith retro arch it stopped working. Please help, by the way my play station controller don't work neither, everything is unditected when I started useing retro arch. All help is great thanks

@Kristopherson05 Why are you starting this thread? You already asked it here:
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/5544/hotkeys-issues and @meleu answered back then on how to do it. Now two weeks later you ask this again without providing the required information. It's astonishing that you could ask "Hot keys don't work - why?" when we all know they do work. The astonishing bit is assuming that we can mind read!?

What does this "messing" look like?
