[Testing] Kodi 17.0 stable/final available for RetroPie!
-
I just updated Kodi with using the method here but now my controller gets detected but the buttons don't work. It worked fine in retropie just before the update.
-
@eVenom Did you configure the controller in it ? Link is in the first post
-
You have to give more information for us to help you.
https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-firstLike, what is your controller model ? What Kodi version you were using before updating to Kodi 17 ? Etc... Kodi logs are always of great help for us to detecting problems.
-
Sorry I should have been more specific
I have a Xbox one controller connected using USB. The controller worked fine in Retropie
Now that I updated Kodi retropie sees the controller but the buttons don't work in retropie let alone in kodi
This is a fresh install of Retropie and the kodi that was installed is the one that comes with it. I believe 16.1

@BuZz Kodi 17 final/stable is pretty close, this week or next one. When released, is it ok to upload the packages to bintray, so it can be updated trough RetroPie-Setup ?
Everything looks good for me, i am already using it in all my machines. -
I Deleted the controller configuration by using "rm /home/pi/.emulationstation/es_input.cfg"
Then I uninstalled the controller drivers in the Retropie setup and reinstalled them, after a reboot, the controller worked fine. Thanks, I hope this will help someone

@eVenom This topic is related to Kodi 17 testing versions. Read this first https://retropie.org.uk/forum/topic/3/read-this-first
and open a new topic with your problem. If your problem is just in Kodi, follow the steps in the first post, or wait till Kodi 17 gets released. -

you should never delete this file - it will break autoconfiguration of emulators if you ever add another controller - to clear ES input you can do it from retropie-setup / configuration / emulationstation

I succesfully updated kodi to 17.0 RC4 but i keep getting a popup on startup saying:
The following add-ons are incompatible with this version of kodi
and have been automatically disabled: Python Image LibraryCan't disable it or update.......
Edit: solved it by restoring kodi to default, updating from Jarvis with custom settings can result in errors so it seems

Kodi updated to 17.0 stable/final.
System fixes:
- Fix "Black screen on exit" when running from within a Desktop Environment.
Just update the system, or follow the instructions on first post again.
-
@Rascas is the bintray mirror removed ? I'm getting file not found for apt source pointing there.
-
@BuZz It is syncing, I am uploading the packages right now. And by the way, in RetroPie setup script, is better to change this line:
aptInstall kodi
To this:
aptInstall kodi kodi-peripheral-joystick kodi-inputstream-adaptive kodi-inputstream-rtmp
otherwise, joysticks won't work.
And probably an additional function to install extra binary addons, like PVRs, visualizations, audioencoders/decoders, etc would be nice.
PS: Upload finished, should be working now.
-
@Rascas thanks - will make the change.
I agree it would be nice to have a little gui to install extra stuff. I will look into it.
-
@BuZz Cool. It is recommend for people using the unstable repo, to remove it now. Instructions on the first post.

@herb_fargus Yeah thanks @Rascas

@Rascas
After upgrading from 16 to 17,
Rmvb video file playback only the sound did not screen, then locked.
How to fix this problem -
@varios I think that Real video (rmvb) is not supported anymore.
PS: A friend of mine tested in a LibreELEC Kodi 17 beta, and it was also unable to play rmvb files, only audio. So it is a bug, or the support has been removed in Kodi 17 on Raspberry Pi. Better to open an issue in Kodi's forum.
