PC Engine CD issues
-
Hello everyone. I attempted to load some .bin and .cue files I have. I get to the screen where it appears that it is loading the game (I tried Final Zone II), but then it crashes back into the game select screen I use in Attract Mode :-(. I'll include an a copy of the runcommand.log I got here:
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1FI4-AirrOsjri5LPk6RFPzZ6PP4tWYdEtxbbdPkgr1o/edit?usp=sharingI attempted to use /opt/retropie/supplementary/runcommand/runcommand.sh under the Executable section (under Edit Emulator).
I also used 0_SYS_pcengine "[romfilename]" under the Command Arguments section (also under Edit Emulator).
If anyone can help, it would be greatly appreciated :-).

@Striderx99 By chance, do you have the correct bios file syscard3.pce in the same directory as the game? I have always had to have the bios with the game to get PC CD games to load correctly.
I have not tried attract mode, so not sure if that is the issue, but it seems to be a common issue getting PCE-CD games going.

I left a copy of syscard3.pce in the BIOS folder, where I think you need to place any important system files for Attract Mode and Emulation Station. I also checked the syntax used in the .cue file to make sure that the spelling and text were identical to that of the .bin file. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but let me say thanks to anyone here who has the solution.

try placing a copy of the bios file in the same directory as the BIN/CUE files. I ended up having them loose in my PCEngine folder or else i have to have the bios file in each game folder to get them to load (and I already had the file in the BIOS folder). I think there is a way to edit configs to get PCE to look in the BIOS folder, but I haven't looked into it sice it works with a copy of the file in the roms folder(s) for me.

I tried placing syscard3.pce in the same folder as the rest of the .pce, .bin, and .cue files. I'm still getting the same result. There is probably an issue with the commands I used to launch the emulator. I had to unzip my TG16 files because they were not loading when I left them in .zip format. Perhaps I should use the same commands I used for that emulator (/opt/retropie/emulators/retroarch/bin/retroarch for the Executable and
-L /opt/retropie/libretrocores/lr-beetle-pce-fast/medafen_pce_fast_libretro.so --config /opt/retropie/configs/pcengine/retroarch.cfg "[romfilename]" for the Command Arguments). I'm still scratching my head trying to figure this out :-(.
