Disable Autologin for Desktop Link in Ports Section
-
Hello everybody, maybe someone can help me with my plan to disable the autologin for the Desktop Link in the RetroPie Ports Section.
In raspi-conf i can only set the boot behavior "boot into Desktop without Autologin".How can i disable the Autologin, when i start the Desktop through the Ports menu entry "Desktop"?
Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year. -
@TKycler in ES you are already logged in under user pi you'd have to add a function to log you out under the start script for the desktop environment

Adding a Function sounds a little hard for my level.
Reading Manpages, testing some options, try and error in in editing config files. Okay... But these files where some operators are given through processes with in my eyes weird ({$%}, are above my actual knowledge.
Editing the lxde config files wasn't helpful. And with your hint that I was logged in and therefore not been asked for a login prompt, because my privileged user starts x, makes sense :-)
But where and how to exit or logout? In the desktop.sh?Does someone have more input for me to get close or to the finish?
If I understand right, it improves great the window manager part of RetroPie. Makes the "Desktop", multi user friendly. (By the way/ stepping through a login)
Thanks again and ... Wow, what a fast reply. -
It seems to be impossible with no experience people like me, in editing the Retropie Scripts.
Maybe someone can help if i edit the main question/ the solution i am looking for.My Pi is used by a couple of Kids. Even small Ones (5 to 9)
I am looking for the possibility that someone without knowledge is just using a simple accessible menu option in retropie and is seconds later logged in as superuser in a graphical, noobfriendly and Mouse equipped environment.Even if i delete the desktop entry in the ports section, so that a little knowledge is needed to do something with the blinking cursor after quitting emulation station (remember the first touch wir MS-Dos 5 :-)
There is the Problem that i manually can't run the "secret command" startx because it runs then my installed Kodi.
Kodi itself is simple lockable through masterlock.Any ideas, for the little security i try to insert in the retropie machine?
Thanks in advance
